External solar panel with integrated 10,000mAh battery
The ZEISS Secacam 5 & 7 already have a great battery runtime, being able to take up to 1900-2000 images on one set of batteries (no videos). However at some stage, the user will have to go to the camera to replace the batteries for new ones.
This is where the ZEISS Solar Panel comes into play. The solar panel, when connected, is detected as an external power supply by the Secacam. It has an integrated rechargeable battery with a capacity of 10,000mAh, that enables the camera to take up to 6500 additional images. The integrated battery is being charged by the solar panel when the sun is shining. When situated in a good position with decent sun exposure the solar panel enables the camera to run continuously throughout the year without the need to charge the battery of the solar panel manually.
Before using the solar panel for the first time it is recommended to fully charge the internal battery of the panel via USB. It is also recommended to have batteries inside the camera as a backup in case the solar panel stops working for some reason (e.g. covered with leaves and battery is fully drained).
