The 5 series Little Acorns have been a ground breaking model that has sent many wildlife camera manufacturers back to the drawing board. Recently updated with new firmware and power saving features.
Two versions available: Standard or Wide Angle lens

The 60° version is best for small to medium gardens and general wildlife watching

The 100° Wide Angle version is good if you want to monitor a large garden or field but bear in mind that the subject will appear smaller and there may be some distortion and darkness at the edges of the image

(choose using the drop down box above):

Standard 60° lens - £119.99
Wide Angle 100° lens - £125.99

 • 44 LEDs - 16 more than the 5210a thus increasing night-vision range by 60%

We have produced a quick start user guide to enable you to get this camera up and running quickly, you can download it here. The full user manual is available here.

These cameras are sometimes used by hunters but for those of us who'd rather watch than shoot, the compact size, 5 ½ x 3 ½ x 2 ½ inches make it perfect for observing the wildlife we share our gardens with after dark. With its 'Time Lapse' setting, it also can be used to observe natural events like flowering. In addition, it can serve as a motion-triggered security camera for home, office, or community surveillance.

Rechargeable batteries 2500mah+ or Energiser Ultimate Lithium are best suited to these cameras, for these, as well as solar chargers and ground spikes please see our accessories page.

Good points:
Following the supplied instructions, it was easy to set up. Video recordings so far look good.
Bad points:
I don't know if any cameras have this, but an indicator somewhere to show that the camera has been triggered would mean we don't have to unmount the camera and open the back up to have a look.

Good points:
Great seeing who comes into my garden and night
Bad points:
Fox attacked the camera and the hinge has now broken. My error and gaffa tape works. Just a bit frustrating

Good points:
Easy to use and to view photos and videos.
Bad points:
Could do with an adapter plate for the back as it is curved and tricky to get mounted onto a flat surface so that the camera is pointing in the right place. Only a minor point.

Good points:
Lovely to see what animals visit our garden at night.
The supplier was very helpful with setting up the camera.
Bad points:
It would be very helpful to have a diagram showing the different parts of the camera included in the instructions.

Good points:

Bad points:
None apparent at present.

Good points:
Does more than I anticipated, and regularly, night after night, serves up interesting video. Instructions very clear , except (see next box)
Bad points:
1 clipping the harness onto the camera i broke the clip. This was replaced super fast (thanks) but it was a gap in the instructions , I thought.
2 I'm probably asking too much from an entry level camera but the night-time stills are so over exposed I can't see the action and some daytime videos are a strange red colour. I'll continue experimenting with settings to see if it's my fault.

Good points:
Very neat, compact with good results [except opposite]
Bad points:
I find night pictures at, say, 2.5 m from subject are so bright as to be a glare and obscure the subject. A truth or is it operator error??

The 10 second switch on to operational is too quick for me.
